On Tuesday 22nd June 2010, Rotherham United Football Club and RMBC Children and Young Peoples Services are launching a long lasting and mutually beneficial partnership which will see the Millers supporting all Rotherham Schools in a variety of projects both educational and as diverse as health, truancy and anti-bullying. The club recognises the positive influence it can have particularly through the power of players as role models and is delighted that RMBC have been so receptive to our approach. We hope that this will allow us to develop links with families throughout Rotherham which will give us the best possible base of support for our return to the new stadium in 2 years.
The day will consist of a launch speech by Paul Douglas (RUFC Chief Operating Officer) and Joyce Thacker (CYPS Strategic Director) 9.30am, followed by a featured session by each of our five themed officers, which are;
· Health – 9.45am
· Education – 10.30am
· Disability – 11.15am
· Community Cohesion – 12.30pm
· Sports Participation – 1.15pm
Throughout the day there will be opportunities to join in taster sessions, collect literature for future vents, photo opportunities or just witness the what RUFC Community Sports trust could offer you.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Rotherham United to express its desire to be an inclusive and community focused football club which takes seriously its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, by providing unique opportunities for children and young people to participate, learn and develop.
